The latter includes program development tools and support for fault tolerance, as well as runtime mechanisms for power-efficient execution. In this talk, we will provide an overview of efforts at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in this critical area of the software stack and we will highlight two aspects in particular: a new approach to visualize application performance at scale; and techniques to enable efficient computation in power-constrained environments.
